Oct 26, 2011
TORONTO, Oct. 26, 2011 /CNW/ - RTDNA Canada - The Association of Electronic Journalists - is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and we believe there has never been a better time to join hundreds of electronic journalists working in broadcast and online news. If you've never been a member of RTDNA Canada since it was created (as RTNDA) in 1962, we invite you to sign up now and pay just half the normal membership rate.
Joining now gets you a membership through to the end of 2012 - and your name will be entered for a chance to win a full registration to the National Conference in Toronto next June. If your membership application also names an existing member for referring you to RTDNA, his/her name will be also entered in the draw, to be held early February 2012.
This is an extraordinary time in the evolution of news, and digital technology presents many opportunities and challenges for our profession. Our regional and national professional development seminars offer relevant and exciting perspectives and take- home value from industry experts while our awards program recognizes the best in electronic journalism across Canada.
Members of RTDNA Canada also receive our weekly newsletter wrap-up of industry news, and by joining, you will be supporting the organization that sets the Canadian standard for fairness and accuracy in our profession, through our Code of Ethics.
Our National Conference - and 50th Anniversary celebration - is in Toronto in 2012. Regional conferences are being held in Vancouver, Winnipeg and Halifax. Here are the dates:
National Conference - June 21-23, Toronto
BC Region - April 14, Vancouver
Prairie Region - April 14, Winnipeg
Atlantic Region - April 14, Halifax
I hope you decide to become a part of RTDNA Canada in this celebratory 50th anniversary year.
