President's Fellowship awarded to Christina Tenaglia

TORONTO, May 9 /CNW/ - RTNDA Canada - The Association of Electronic Journalists - is pleased to announce that Cristina Tenaglia has been selected as recipient of the RTNDA Canada President's Fellowship. The Fellowship of up to $3,000 is offered to a working electronic journalist annually to attend a seminar at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida. Poynter offers an assortment of seminars on issues ranging from Leadership and Management, to Reporting Writing and Editing, to Ethics and Diversity, among others.

"Cristina Tenaglia was one of many excellent applicants for the President's Fellowship," said RTNDA Canada President Andy LeBlanc. "Cristina has been an active member of our organization since 2008, and I am pleased that we are investing in the education of one of RTNDA Canada's new generation of electronic journalists."

Tenaglia has been a member of RTNDA Canada since 2008, and plans to attend the TV Power Reporting session at the Poynter Institute. She is a graduate of Ryerson University and has worked with Rogers TV and now CHCH Hamilton.

"I am incredibly honoured to have been awarded this opportunity," said Fellowship winner Cristina Tenaglia. "I've always admired Poynter as an institution and I look forward to making the most of this experience. Thank you to RTNDA Canada for investing in me, as a young journalist."

The President's Fellowship was announced during RTNDA Canada's Central Region conference in Kitchener-Waterloo this past weekend.
