RTNDA Canada sets membership record!

Feb 13, 2008

TORONTO, Feb. 13 /CNW/ - Membership in RTNDA Canada - The Association of
Electronic Journalists - has reached an all time high. More than 500 working
journalists and industry leaders have joined the association for 2008.
RTNDA Canada President Bob McLaughlin says "The increasing membership in
the organization is a credit to the group's efforts to support the high
standards of Canadian journalism. Our membership has topped 500, an all time
high for the association." McLaughlin says three RTNDA goals made that happen.

- RTNDA Canada has taken the leadership role in establishing training and
educational initiatives for working journalists in Canada.
- The RTNDA Canada Code of Ethics is recognized as the leading guide on
questions of ethics and journalistic standards in the country.
- The RTNDA Canada Awards are recognized as the top honours for broadcast
journalism in Canada.

RTNDA Canada will honour the very best in Canadian journalism at its
National Conference, June 19 to 21 in Ottawa.

RTNDA Canada is the voice of electronic journalists and news managers in
Canada. The members of RTNDA Canada recognize the responsibility of broadcast
journalists to promote and to protect the freedom to report independently
about matters of public interest and to present a wide range of expressions,
opinions and ideas. The RTNDA Canada Code of Ethics adopted by the Canadian
Broadcast Standards Council, is used to measure fairness and accuracy in our
profession.
