RTNDF Scholarship & Michael Monty Memorial Award Deadlines Only Days Away

RTNDF Canada 2011 Call for Scholarship Entries - Deadline April 8th

TORONTO, March 30 /CNW/ - RTNDF Canada was established by RTNDA Canada in 1978 to offer financial assistance to journalism students. Nine scholarships will be awarded to Canadian students this year, bringing the total amount awarded by RTNDF to more than $263,000.00. Scholarships are awarded to first, second, third year and graduate students. Submissions are limited to one per applicant and must have been produced during the 2010/2011 academic year. Scholarship entry forms can be downloaded from the RTNDA Canada website at http://www.rtndacanada.com/RTNDF/default.asp. The deadline for applications is April 8th, 2011.

RTNDF Michael Monty Memorial Award - Deadline April 8th

March 30, 2011 - RTNDF Canada invites nominations for the Michael Monty Memorial Award. Michael was the master storyteller -- the stories of his exploits inspired, entertained and informed thousands of students during his teaching career at Seneca College. Michael's love for his students and for RTNDA, his booming voice, his hearty laugh and his passion for this industry, were the foundations for the creation of this award. The Michael Monty Memorial Award will be presented to a broadcast educator nominated by students for special recognition.

Nominators should indicate why the educator is deserving of special recognition. RTNDF Trustees will review the nominations and their decision is final. The deadline for nominations is April 8th, 2011.
