RTNDA Canada announces Prairie Regional Award Recipients

EDMONTON, June 17 /CNW/ - RTNDA Canada, The Association of Electronic Journalists, recognized excellence in electronic journalism in the Prairie Region as it presented its annual awards tonight in Edmonton, Alberta.

The RTNDA Canada Awards are given to honour the best programs, stations and newsgathering organizations in both radio and television. "Awards are given in a variety of categories", said Cal Johnstone, RTNDA Canada President. "Each award is named after a pioneer, innovator or standard-setter in Canadian broadcast journalism", he said, adding "The awards are especially meaningful as they come from our peers in the industry."

"Congratulations to all the winners" said Johnstone. "These awards underline the value of local news coverage to Canadian communities."
