TORONTO, Jan. 27 /CNW/ - The Radio Television News Directors Foundation of Canada is pleased to announce the addition of a new national scholarship.
COLD-FX Scholarship
The winning candidate must submit a medical news story or feature designed for television or radio that demonstrates an ability to grasp medical issues and presents complicated information in a clear, well-written and compelling way.
"Journalists play a vital role in providing the information the public needs to make informed decisions about their health, and in holding policy-makers, medical institutions, and public agencies accountable. We are proud to play a role in encouraging journalism students to develop skills that will enhance the public conversation about our health, through our partnership with the RTNDF, and the creation of the COLD-FX Scholarship for Medical Journalism," said Warren Michaels, Vice-President, Communications for Afexa Life Sciences - the maker of COLD-FX.
RTNDF awards annually nine national scholarships to Journalism students. To date, RTNDF scholarships total over $263,000.00 for deserving Journalism students.
